"Carol," beloved Mother, Sister and Grandmother has "gone home" after years of declining
health.
Carol was born in Vero Beach, Florida, during WWII while her father was in the Navy
assigned to the Naval Air Station. Carol was raised in Greensboro and graduated from
Sumner High School and attended Women's College (Now UNCG). Carol had a long
career as the Administrator for the Chapter 13 United States Bankruptcy court, retiring in
1997.
Above all, Carol loved her family. She especially enjoyed being Nai-Nai. She was able to
travel to China with Jamee and Bill to bring sweet Caroline home.
She was a wonderful cook, and she always made Christmas magical with her biscuits,
gravy, grits and pork tenderloin cooked to perfection. She was the persimmon pudding
queen, not to mention her cakes and pies.
Carol loved her dogs. From the strays that Jamee would round up to the ones that she
chose from rescues. There will be a joyous reunion at the Rainbow Bridge when Mama
shows up!
A very special thanks to the angels we have met along this journey – Blumenthal, Brookdale
Lawndale, Clare Bridge and Lindon Placed. She was truly blessed with the love and
compassion she received.
Carol is predeceased by her parents James E. Davis, Jr. and Olga Neese Davis, her first
husband Bill Fagg, and her second husband Roy Edwards. Left to cherish her memories
are daughter Jamee Weatherford (Bill) of Harrisburg, N.C., Kim Hoag (Donnie) of
Summerfield, stepson Bobby Edwards (Denise) of Brown Summit, N.C. Grandchildren
Caroline Weatherford, Elizabeth Weatherford, Matthew Edwards (Jordan); and great-grandson
Liam Edwards. Sister Maria Schone (Ed) of Locust, N.C., and special lifelong
buddy Ann Helms.
There will be no service. Donations are appreciated to The Salvation Army.
