Jackson, Charles Barham
Charles Barham Jackson, 77, passed away on January 7 at a Cone Health facility. He had been in declining health for the past three years.
Charles was a graduate of Alamance High School in 1961 and was a retired USPS mail carrier. He enjoyed baseball, football, NASCAR and was a longtime Tar Heels fan.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Joan Cheek Jackson, parents, Bunn and Beatrice Jackson, sisters: Alice Jackson, JoAnn Clayton and Lera Highfill.
Charles is survived by his son, Carl Bennett and wife, Jennifer of Lexington; sisters: Dara Perkins of Greensboro, Corena Gray of Mebane, Louise Moore of Martin, GA and Gloria Buskirk (Bobby) of Preston, MS; brothers: Ed Jackson (Anita) of Stedman, Eugene Jackson (Betty) of Snow Camp, Bobby Jackson (Millie) of Greensboro and Michael Jackson (Janice) of Pleasant Garden.
A very special thanks from the entire family to Linda Wade for her dedication and loving care for both Joan and Charles in their time of illness.
Visitation and viewing will be Thursday, the 14th of January from 1 to 2 p.m. at Reedy Fork Baptist Church. Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Porter officiating. Burial will be in Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian, NC. The funeral will be live streamed on Facebook at Reedy Fork 1940.
