Earlier today
Growing up in the Glenwood area I've known the Chilco's most of my life. David was one of the nicest people on earth. We had good times in Boy Scouts. My prayers are with the entire family during this difficult time. RIP brother.

I have known David for more than 50-years. Ron was our Boy Scouts Leader, we attended church and school together, and we played a lot of tennis together. I have always thought the world of the Chilco family and it saddens my heart to hear of David's passing so young. David was a wonderful friend, dad, husband, son, and so forth. He was always a joy to be around. I have decades of memories with him and I cannot remember a single time when he wasn't smiling and kidding around. He was one of those guys you loved to be around because he brightened every room he was in. My condolences go out to Ron and Heidi, who always treated me like a son. Trish, I pray for you and your children and grandchildren, that God may provide understanding and peace by knowing David is home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. David was a wonderful man on this earth, and there is no doubt that his big old smile we were accustom to seeing, shines even brighter in heaven. May God bless you all.
Love,

David Chilco was an amazing man, wonderful dad and role model. As my best friends dad, he was like a second dad to me. He will be missed. We had so much fun at our beach trips and get togethers.

David would always try to find a way to bust your chops with his humor, and try to find a way to buy from you too! A great man...sorry for our loss.

David was always joking and in good spirits. I enjoyed working with him the past several years. We always ribbed each other on the Tarheels and Wolfpack games. Sending prayers and love to all the family.

I didn't know David very well but as his parents next door neighbor, David would speak to me as I worked in my garden or yard when he saw me. He always had kind words and a large smile on his face. I will definitely miss that smile and kind words.
