GREENSBORO Dodson Ramseur Schenck, Sr. died Tuesday, November 15, 2016. Dodson was born November 5, 1943 in Greensboro. He was the son of the late Virginia Sawyer and Paul Wilfong Schenck, Jr.A graveside service in celebration of Dodson's life will be at 11:00 on Friday morning, November 18 at Green Hill Cemetery. Following the service, Dodson's family invites friends to join them at a reception at the Lineberry Center, 515 North Elm Street in Greensboro.Dodson graduated from Darlington School in Rome, GA. He loved his high school years at Darlington, serving as student council president and playing on the golf and basketball teams. He continued his education as a member of the Class of 1966 at UNC-Chapel Hill, at which he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.Dodson was a talented landscape designer and had a great love of the outdoors. He was a member of the North Carolina Landscape Association. Prior to his career in landscaping, he enjoyed a career in his family's insurance firm, Paul Schenck and Associates. Dodson is survived by his wife of 35 years, Margaret. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Schenck III and his wife Gail; his sister, Margaret Pearl and her husband Ron; and his sister, Ginni Lineberry and her husband Al; his sister-in-law Carolyn Hurley and her husband Gordon.Dodson is also survived by his daughter Ginna Bauhan and her husband Hobey; his son Dodson, Jr. and his wife Robin; his daughter Russell Combs and her husband Brian; his grandchildren are Ann and Molly Bauhan, Eliza and Will Schenck, and Chandler and Kate Combs.Donations may be made to organizations dear to Dodson's heart: the Guilford Battleground Company, P.O.
