Donald M. "Daddy Don" Henderson, Sr., 89, of Greensboro, died Saturday, November 22, 2025, at AuthoraCare Collective in Greensboro.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, 12:00 p.m., at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Donald was born on December 14, 1935, in Ellerbe, N.C., the son of Clyde and Katherine McRae Henderson.
Donald was a member of Friendly Ave. Baptist Church. He started working as a driver for Red at Bessemer Curb Market, going to Ellerbe for fruits and vegetables. Later Donald went into car sales, working for Black Cadillac, Galloway Buick and owner of Reidsville Buick GMC and Your Way Auto Sales. He enjoyed golfing upon retirement as well as family gatherings, watching his television shows and spending time with his wife Marleen.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a son and daughter, Robbie Henderson and Kimberlee Flores.
Surviving is his wife, Marleen Henderson; daughter, Dawn Heatherly of Greensboro; sons, Donnie Henderson Jr. of Thomasville and Steve Heatherly (Rose) of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Lorraine Little of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, D.J., Robbie Jr., Zach, Michael, Justin, Angela and Christie.
The family asks with gratitude that memorials in Donald's name be made to AuthoraCare Collective-Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave. Greensboro, NC 27405.
