GREENSBORO ED CLIFFORD RAMEY, 91, OF GREENSBORO passed away on January 2, 2018 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Hines Chapel Church with Rev. John Jarman and Dr. Jason Whitehurst officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Ed was born in Surry County to the late John Dixie and Rosie May Martin Ramey. He retired from the maintenance department at Greensboro College. He loved wood working and enjoyed many hours in his shop. Ed was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Selma Barker Ramey, two sons, Rodney Lynn Ramey (Judy) and Jeffrey Lee Ramey (Gladys), a sister, Clara Seavers of Mt. Airy, grandchildren, Laurie Alderman (Kevin) , Davis Ramey and Glenn Ramey, great grandchildren ,Seth Fields and Emma Fields, nieces and nephews, Melinda Ramey, John Ramey, Stella Inman (Dwain), James Doug Snow and Jody Seavers (Abby). He is preceded in death by his sister Sara Lee Snow, brothers, Dixie Ray Ramey and Floyd Rex Ramey. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the commital service in the cemetery. The family wishes to thank Mary Serpe and Kristal Daniels for the wonderful care they provided to Ed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405 or Hines Chapel Church, 4476 Hines Chapel Road, McLeansville, NC 27301. Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Funeral Home is serving the Ramey Family.
