Edward Weeks Obituary

Weeks, Jr., Edward Earl

March 13, 1954 - April 23, 2021

Edward Earl Weeks Jr, 67, left this earthly world to be with his heavenly father on the morning of April 23rd, 2021. Earl was born in Roanoke, Virginia, one of three children to Ed and Mary Weeks. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Donna for 34 years and an example-setting father to children Deedra, Eddie, Ben and Lilly.

Earl graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and was a messenger of the word of God. He drove for USF Holland for nearly 30 years and enjoyed witnessing to everyone he could.

He was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Earl was quick to offer a positive word to those dealing with a difficult situation and was renowned for his prayers, big and small. He was also diligent and intentional in his role as a witness of Christ's love.

Earl was preceded in death by parents Ed and Mary Weeks, and wife Donna. He is survived by sisters Carolyn Blake and Lynn Alcorn and children, Deedra Gill and Eddie, Ben and Lilly Weeks.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The service will also be livestreamed. Please refer to westpreschurch.org for livestream details. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.

I worked with Earl for 19 years, He is a man of great faith. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was always asking and praying for my son when he was going through a lot. I hope the family can find peace as we pray for you guys!

I worked with Earl a week's 22 years and was close friends with him. He was a great person who would always lend a hand when ever needed. I know from talking to him almost every night that the love he had for his wife and kids was boundless. He also had a strong relationship with our heavenly father. He always met you with a smile and a kind word. I know we meet up when my time comes. Until then my heart will ache with him being gone. You will be missed.

I always called him Mr Weeks and I had worked with him for the last two years. Mr Weeks didn't have to tell anyone that he was Christian, for those around him could tell by watching how he lived his life, compassionate and caring for others.
I recall that he often carried a Prayer List of names of people to submit at the Church that he attended. If he heard of a coworker who had a sick relative, he would ask for their name to write down on the Prayer List. If I had a question about work, he would explain and I could always trust his advice. I wish that there were more people like him and I know that he is already missed. I am Praying for Peace and Comfort for the family during this time of mourning.

I would like to send my condolences to the entire family of Earl and Donna. Also to there brothers and sisters of Westminster Church. Earl came to Cleveland Ohio on his run for work for a few of his years on earth. I had the honor of taking him to breakfast quite a few times. When were eating at this place, he would just brighten up everyone around our table with his offering up of prayers to anyone, as we prayed over our meal. I'll never forget this wonderful man that God allowed me to get to know, and call my friend. So sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear about Earl. We went to school together. I drive past his home place every day on Rutrough Road going to work and think about his family wondering if family members still live there. Prayers for his family sent.
