GREENSBORO EMMA CARTER PRICE, age 88, passed away on August 7, 2014 at her residence with her family at her side. Emma's wish was to be home with her son until the end and her wish was thankfully fulfilled.Emma was a lady in the truest sense of the word, a true beauty and always dressed to perfection. After a career of over thirty years in television and advertising in Charlotte, she retired to Greensboro in 1990. She enjoyed spending time at her home in Greensboro and summers in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, with her son. She attended Lawndale Baptist Church and was a member of the Faith-Hope Life Journey Group at Lawndale. She will always be remembered for her quick wit and outgoing personality. Her loss is devastating to those closest to her, but that love will endure. Emma's funeral service will be held Monday, August 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Street Chapel with Dr. Joe Giaritelli of Lawndale Baptist Church officiating. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 4-6 p.m. at Hanes-Lineberry. A private burial service will be held at the Carter Family Cemetery immediately following the service.Emma was the daughter of the late Roy and Margaret Carter of Stoneville. Her husband, Thomas Francis Price, and sisters Anne Carter Glenn and Evelyn C.B. Englander preceded her in death.Surviving are her son, Steven Carter Price (Chris) of Greensboro, and daughter, Pamela Price Schell (Mike) of Houston, Texas, two grandchildren, Kim Shipley (Ted) of Wilmington and Lauren Chapman (Charles) of Houston, Texas, two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Carter Shipley, and one very special cousin, Peggy Atlas, who visited Emma daily until her passing.Emma's family would like to extend special thanks to all of her caregivers, but most especially to Diane Ray for her love, dedication, and unwavering care over the last five years.
