Gregory Meece Obituary
May 25, 1971 - September 23, 2024
Greg Meece passed away suddenly at his residence in Jacksonville, Florida on September 23, 2024. He was born at Wesley Long Hospital May 25, 1971 in Greensboro NC. He attended Page High School, eventually attaining his GED. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1990 and served as a Machinery Technician at multiple units before separating to return to civilian life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Meece. He is survived by his mother Polly Thompson, stepfather Sam Thompson, brother Philip Meece (Rachel), sister Kelly Wright (Martin), brother Kevin Thompson (Paige), children Nygel Meece and Ciera Hughes (Austin), grandson Rowan Hughes and numerous cousins.
A funeral ceremony will be held on November 9, 2024 at VFW post 2087 2605 S. Elm-Eugene St at 1 p.m. followed by a light reception from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to gather and share memories of Greg.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either the VFW or American Legion.

I am truly sorry for the family's loss. Greg was a fun guy to be around. His sense of humor is the one thing that stands out to me most. He will be greatly missed.
