July 14, 1931 - April 17, 2021
Grover Franklin Minor, 89, of Greensboro, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Carolina Estates Senior Living.
Born July 14, 1931, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late Ruffin Franklin Minor and the late Mary Ozment Minor. Mr. Minor was a US Army veteran and was a retired Greensboro Police Officer with twenty-nine years of service. He was a member of Gate City Baptist Church.
Mr. Minor is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Carolyn Walker Minor of the home; sons, Ted Minor and wife Lilly of Memphis, TN, and Ty Minor and wife Sherri of Browns Summit; daughter, Tammy Thrasher and husband Eric of Greensboro; grandchildren, Daniel Minor and wife Irene, Luke Minor and wife Jennifer, Joseph Minor, Nathan Thrasher and wife Heather, and Will Thrasher and wife Lauren; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Bella Thrasher, Caleb and Joshua Minor, and Austin and Bo Minor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Minor, sisters, Geneva Glover, and Marie Bishop; and granddaughter, Joy Elizabeth Minor.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Gate City Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Westminster Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gate City Baptist Church,5250 Hilltop Rd. Jamestown, NC 27282.

I was sad to learn of the death of Grover. Proud to be his cousin and sorry have not seen him or his family in years. I send my deepest and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
I now live in Greenville, SC and sure do miss Greensboro.
