Gwen Lankford Turner

SUMMERFIELD Gwen "Nancy" Lankford Turner, 59, of Summerfield, NC, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. She was born on May 13, 1958 to the late Donald Lankford and Irene Martin Lankford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Wood; and brothers, Gary Lankford and Donald Lankford, Jr. Ms. Turner worked for Henry County Public Schools as a Deaf H.H. interpreter and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Blackman and husband Doug of Summerfield, NC, Beth Frace and husband David of Summerfield, NC, and Kim Wheeler and husband Michael of Greensboro, NC; sister, Elisha Bradshaw and husband Jonathan of Summerfield, NC; and four grandchildren, Ava Blackman, Rhett Blackman, Cecelia Frace, and Henry Frace. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Ramsey officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. before the service at the church. Interment will be in Red Bank Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Stuart, VA.
