Harris York Obituary

Harris York

Mrs. Harris W. York, age 85, of Southport, North Carolina passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025. Mrs. York was born December 23, 1939, and was the daughter of the late John Harris Wylie and Margaret Smith Wylie. She retired from Moses H. Cone Hospital as a neonatal nurse. Mrs. York was an avid reader and loved spending time at the beach with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Sizemore and husband Arthur; two grandsons, John Franklin Sizemore and Hunter Louis Sizemore and wife Adelina; and two great-grandchildren, Carter Sizemore and Sophia Grace Sizemore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Franklin York. A celebration of her life will be held in the late spring or early summer in Liberty, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 123 N Fayetteville St, Liberty, NC 27298 or to the Liberty Public Library, 239 S Fayetteville St, Liberty, NC 27298.
