Iris Waynick Obituary
April 6, 1928 - August 24, 2024
Iris Love Waynick went home to be with her Savior the Lord, Jesus Christ early Saturday morning, August 24, 2024, at the home of her daughter in McLeansvilee.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Forbis & Dick on Elm Street, Greensboro, at 12 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Midkiff officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Forbis & Dick.
Iris was born April 6, 1928, in Wilkes County to the late Richard Leonard Love and Bertie Mae Coffee Love. She was a life long member of Briggs Memorial Baptist Church. Iris retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company after many years of hard work.
Iris is preceded in death by her parents; her husband James R. Waynick; brother Hugh Alton Love; sisters Ruby Royce Bryant and Mary Lou Inscore; Sons in-law Robert F. Bost III and William D. Johnson; granddaughter Kimberly Johnson Wyrick; brothers in-law Glen Inscore, Paul Jarvis and Calvin Bryant. She is survived by her daughters Carol Souther Johnson and Wanda Souther Bost; grandson David Michael Johnson (Laura); brother Claude Dean Love (Arcile); sister Dorothy Sue Jarvis; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved dog Angel Renee and grand dog Bella.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Briggs Memorial Baptist Church at 1344 Rankin Mill Rd, McLeansville, NC 27301, Rankin Baptist Church at 3317 Summit Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405 or SPCA of the Triad at 3163 Hines Chapel Rd, Greensboro, NC 27405.

I was deeply saddened to read about the passing of Iris today (8/30/24) and unable to attend her service. I recall the boundless energy and enthusiasm she had which was inspiring to us all. She had the remarkable ability to light up any room and bring joy to those around her.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time and may the memories of her vibrant spirit bring you comfort and strength.
