Jan was a farmer all his life, being a part of Lowe Brothers Dairy, which later changed to Jan Lowe Dairy, Inc. in June of 1993. He proudly served in the United States Army and traveled all across the country, including Fort Gordon in Augusta, Ga., where he completed his basic training; Fort Ord in Monterrey, Calif.; Fort Lee in Virginia; and Fort Holabird in Baltimore, Md., where he was assigned to the CIA School. As a long time member of First Baptist Church in Liberty, Jan was known for his faithfulness to the Lord. Since childhood, Jan loved playing and watching baseball and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He loved his cats, Scooby Doo, Rusty, and Sunny Sunshine, who were like his children.
