Jerry Wayne Gregory

May 19, 1947 - May 30, 2024

Jerry Wayne Gregory passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024 in Santa Clara, CA. He was a native of Greensboro, NC, born on May 19, 1947 to Ina and Carl Gregory. Jerry graduated from Page High School in 1965 and attended NC State where he played on the golf team. He joined the Navy in 1968 and trained as an OR tech with a neurosurgical team. He was stationed at Bethesda Naval Hospital in 1968 when he was on the Presidential Inauguration medical team and at Yokosuka Naval Hospital in Japan 1969-1971 assisting wounded soldiers from the Vietnam War and part of Project Apollo's medical team for splash landings in the Pacific Ocean. Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Susan "Bunny" Luke, in 1968, and in 1973 they had a son Brian and moved to the Bay Area. Jerry later met his lifelong partner, Susan Uyehata, they married in 1978 and had two children Katherine 'Katie" and Gordon. Jerry enjoyed the Bay Area where he lived the rest of his life, changing his career to commercial real estate, learning about Napa Valley wines, and folk dancing with his beloved wife Susan.

Jerry is survived by his wife Susan Gregory of Santa Clara, CA; his sister Sylvia Gregory Talley of Greensboro, NC; and his ex-wife Bunny Gibson of Plymouth, MA. Jerry is survived by his son Brian and his wife Molly of Plymouth, MA; his daughter Katie Gregory Nelson and her husband Jeremy Nelson of Antelope, CA; and son Gordon Gregory of San Mateo, CA. Jerry is survived by his three grandchildren, Winter and Wyatt Nelson of Antelope, CA and Jesse Gregory of Plymouth, MA. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
