Joshua Dungan Obituary

Dungan, Joshua Ethan

January 18, 2001 - August 30, 2022

Joshua Ethan Dungan, son of Larry and Melissa (Missy) Dungan, born on January 18, 2001. He departed this life on the evening of August 30, 2022.

Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at George Brothers Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Josh attended Northern Elementary, Middle and High School, where he graduated in June of 2019. He then attended Forsyth Technical Community College where he studied race car technology. It was there he found one of his true passions of welding. He began his welding career at Archer Advanced Rubber Components and was currently employed at Environmental Air Systems. Josh was also immensely passionate and devoted to his cars. He was currently restoring his 2005 Yamaha Motorcycle and his Mustang he lovingly nicknamed "Big Bird." From the time Josh was a little kid, he could be found in the garage with dad, tinkering on all kinds of projects.

Josh was preceded in death by his loving grandparents Marilyn and Larry Dungan Sr.

Josh leaves behind a multitude of loving family members and friends: his loving parents Larry and Missy Dungan; his sister and brother-in-law Kaila and Montrel Wilson; his loving grandparents William and Louise McCuiston. He also leaves behind many aunts and uncles, including Ray and Frannie Garner, Marilyn and Gary Cassis, LaQuita Bray, and Ann and Chris Tolley. Alison Garner, Dana, David, and Tripp Owens, along with a host of cousins. Josh also leaves behind a multitude of friends, adopted family, and his beloved car community. Josh also leaves behind his beloved girlfriend Madelyn "Mads" Lacopo. Last, but certainly not least, Josh leaves behind his travel companion and roommate, Miller the cat.

Mr. & Mrs. Dungan, we are sincerely sorry for your loss. My husband, Tim Kendrick coached Josh in baseball years ago, but more recently we saw Josh when he would come over to see our son Noah. They had become really good friends. He was always so polite and friendly. He still called Tim "coach!". He will be missed, please know your family is in our prayers. God Bless your family.

Mr. and Mrs. Dungan I would like to express my condolences on the passing of your son. I am so sorry for your loss. I did not personally know him but I am a neighbor on the South side of Townsend Forest. I used to love to see him driving in his Yellow Mustang! I could tell he loved that Mustang and he was always so nice to wave to me when I was out in my yard when he went by. He appeared to be a very nice young man that I know you were very proud of. God bless all of his family.
