Margie Dove Puckett, 92, passed away Friday, March 10 at Rockingham County Hospice Home (The Gibson House).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 14 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Interment will follow the service at Roselawn Cemetery. The family will see friends Sunday evening from 5-7pm at the funeral home.

Margie was born to the late Jim Greene and Nannie Chapmon Dove, graduated from Wentworth High School in 1948 and was voted by her classmates as the sweetest. She worked as the bookkeeper at Freeway Builders Supply and retired in 1992. She was a member of Dan River Wesleyan Church in Eden, NC and attended College Park Baptist Church and Covington Wesleyan. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Larnie Abraham (LA) Puckett, Jr., sister Eva Cox and brother-in-law Gene Cox, brother Bobby Dove, brother-in-laws Robert Dagenhart and WD Rakestraw, son-in-law Joyner Washburn.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and June Puckett, daughter, Donna Puckett Washburn, Grandson and wife, Dennis and Kristen Puckett, great grandchildren Kenzie and Dylan Puckett. Sisters, Dorothy Rakestraw of Reidsville, NC, Maribeth Woolard (Sam) of Virginia Beach, VA, brother Dwight (Pam) Dove of Eden, NC and sister-in-law Lorraine Dove of Burlington, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank her special caregivers Melodie Hennis, Starr Cox and Pat Saunders.

We also want to thank the staff at Hospice House for their care of our mom.
