Mark Coby Obituary
May 14, 1958 - May 27, 2021
Kernersville – Mr. Mark Edward Coby, 63, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021. He was born on May 14, 1958, in West Virginia to August "Bud" and Gladys "Marie" Coby. Mark sought adventure in all forms and at any distance, from the Piedmont area to Europe, the Caribbean, and everywhere in between. He had been a private pilot for over 40 years. He was a born Engineer who looked for any excuse to tinker with all things mechanical with a special passion for old cars. He loved his grandkids and found great joy in spoiling them. He was a loving father, fiancée, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving fiancée, Vicki Carter Bettinger; his children, Heather Hopkins (husband, Jeremy), Jacob Coby (wife, Jennifer), and Brent and Ryan Bettinger; six grandchildren, Gavyn, Alyssa, Lucas, Ashton, Riley, and Katherine; three siblings, Beth Bullamore (husband, Chuck), Dan Coby (fiancée, Christine Darci) and Jan Coby; his niece, Marie Bullamore (partner, Peter Koski); his future in-laws, Lawrence and Kathy Carter; and many other family members and friends.
A private family graveside service for Mark will be held at Center United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mark's name to Center United Methodist Church at 1857 US 64, Mocksville, NC 27028 or to the Experimental Aircraft Association at 3000 Poberezny Rd, Oshkosh, WI 54903.
