Ms. Mary Jane "Janie" Shepherd, 78, of Archdale passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at High Point Medical Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 24, 2022 at Grace Baptist Church (2008 Fairfax Road) with Pastor J. R. Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Janie was born September 23, 1943 in Guilford County to the late Rev. John H. and Maurine Gordon. She was a lifelong resident of Guilford County. Janie was employed with Fredrickson Motor Express in Greensboro until her retirement. She enjoyed the simple things in life and loved spending time with her family and dear friends, who will all miss her more than words can express.

Along with her parents, Janie is preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Southard and John "Tinker" Gordon.

Janie is survived by her daughters, Kim Howard (Bobby) of Lexington, SC and Beth Lawrence of Trinity; grandchildren, McKenzie Howard of Lexington, SC, Cameron Howard (her fiancé, Carter Rowland) of Charleston, SC and Landon Lawrence of Trinity; sisters, Grace Stout of Trinity and Faye Young (Darrell) of Greensboro. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members whom she loved so much.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the church prior to the service. With recent surges in covid and other viral illnesses, we prefer that masks be worn if possible in order to help protect our family and friends.
