Troxler, Patricia Jane Hughes

January 27, 1939 - July 17, 2021

Greensboro—Patricia Jane Hughes Troxler, 82, entered eternal rest July 17, 2021 at Ashton Health and Rehabilitation, Burlington. She was born in Richmond, VA to the late Dr. J. Aubrey and Bernice Halligan Hughes. Raised in Virginia, Patricia graduated from Lane High School and was a Greensboro College alumni. She served as president of Lyric Theater and president of the Jaycettes. Patricia was a very active member of West Market St. United Methodist Church, where she taught two Sunday school classes, sang in the Chancel Choir, served as the president of the board and chairman of Evangelism, as well as a delegate to western NC Annual Conference of the Methodist Church. If Patricia was not singing in the choir, you would often see her performing bells, which was one of her favorite ways to serve.

She was so very involved in her daughter's dance and skating competitions that she became co-owner of Creative Costume. She is best remembered by her grandchildren and friends as an avid doll collector who filled the home with seasonal themed collections throughout the year. She was a member of Piedmont and Queen Ann Revenge Doll Clubs and was Regional 8 director for the Federation of Doll Clubs.

She is survived by her late husband of 62 years, Jerry Troxler, who passed on the same day; three daughters; Virginia Cedelle Troxler of Greensboro, Julia Imogene Ritchey and husband Scott of Louisville, KY, Jerrilyn Halligan Johnson and husband James of Estes Park, CO; seven grandchildren; Tyler Wolfe, Jenee and Christopher Powell, Baden, AJ, Lewis and Kayla Johnson; one great-grandchild Ryleigh Powell.

The family will receive friends at the West Market Street United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Reverend Jill Alventosa-Brown officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to West Market St United Methodist Church Music Fund.

Dear Sisters and your families, Our hearts are saddened for all of you and are sending you all many heart-felt Prayers. Your Mother and Father were just such a Joy to be with, and we have had some lovely times together through the years on holiday's and special occasions. None other more than Jerrilyn and James Wedding Day when I first met your Mother. Patricia and Father, Jerry. You Mom became my Hero, on that very day, and from then on. She conducted herself in the most cool, calm and graceful attitude of anyone who had welcomed a bunch of excited bridesmaids into her home on such a stressful and busy day. I've never forgotten her image of that day. As she seemed to float through the day and night's activities. Your Dad was just a jolly and accepting man, who we loved listening to all his stories while we were gathered around a table, went on long walks or gathered wherever we might meet. My heart goes out to each and everyone, and I'm sending you all so much love and prayers today, and the days to come. With my Sincere Heart-felt Sympathy, I'm thinking of you all today. Love, Linda Everette & Family
