Patsy Craver Stamey, 91, of Greensboro, North Carolina passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 26, 2026. Born in Lexington, North Carolina, Patsy lived a life grounded in service, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to those around her.
She shared a remarkable 68-year marriage with her husband, Charles "Charlie" Stamey, having wed on March 3, 1957. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and service, living in Jacksonville, Florida; Brunswick, Georgia; Patuxent River, Maryland; Argentia, Newfoundland; Greensboro, North Carolina.
Patsy was the proud mother of Beverly Brown (Barry), Elizabeth Allen (Brian), and Chip Stamey (Liza). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Brad, Lauren (Tom), Joshua (Mary), Lindsey (Kevin), Charlie (Cass), Chaz (Annie), Craver (Hannah), Eliza Jane, and Ellie (Anthony), as well as her six adored great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister, Cheryl Griffith of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
A graduate of Lexington Senior High School, Patsy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Greensboro College. She began her career as a high school teacher.
She served as a director of Stephen Ministry, lay speaker, retreat leader, and director of nurturing ministries. She was an active member of Centenary/Irving Park United Methodist Church.
Patsy had a gift for uplifting others and founded a group known as the "Encouragers," Her kindness, wisdom, and gentle presence touched many lives.
She found joy in golf, gardening, knitting, watercolor painting, reading, and singing in the choir. She also enjoyed tennis and pickleball, embracing both activity and fellowship throughout her life.
Patsy will be remembered for her quiet strength, her deep faith, and her ability to make others feel loved and supported. Her life was a testament to grace, compassion, and service.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Irving Park United Methodist Church in Greensboro North Carolina.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and all who knew her.
