Ralph Day was born on February 7, 1949 in Alamance County to the late Mary Bell and Will Sterling Day. He answered God's call to eternal rest on January 2, 2021 at his home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Bell Baynes Day, father, Will Sterling Day, and oldest brother John William Day (JW).

Ralph Day graduated from Sedalia High School where he received his early education in Mcleansville, N.C. He later served in the U.S. Navy October 16,1969. Following his military career, Mr. Day started work at Lorillard on July 31, 1972 as a mechanic and held vice president of the Union for many years and later retired from Lorillard on January 1, 2012. He was a member of Sweet Gum Missionary Baptist Church and maintained positions on the trustee board, finance and budget, building committee, transportation, assistant treasurer, Youth leader, HR committee, the men's choir and the gospel Aires choir. His hobbies were: golfing, swimming, traveling. Ralph loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle most of all. He became a member of the "Doggpound" Motorcycle club in 2007. He served the position of road captain from 2007 until he retired from the club in 2019.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his loving and devoted wife Mrs. Terri Montgomery Day and children: Raquel Day, Ralph (Nick) Day II *Dawn* and Ramona Day, and grandchildren: Rossice Buckley, Brandi Buckley, Xavier Wells, Neveah Day and Chloe Wells; brothers and sister Alford Day, Monroe Day, Joe Day and Ida Mae Scales. He had a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends.
