Rosalie Cunningham
June 23, 1934 - November 25, 2025
Rosalie Koenig Cunningham met the love of her life at a Catholic young adults club, where Frank immediately walked over to introduce himself when she entered the room. She would later tell us that he had already dated every other girl in the room and ruled them out. They spent almost 61 years in a wonderful marriage and were blessed with four children.
Rosalie was born in New Jersey on June 23, 1934, and passed away on November 25, 2025. She attended Our Lady of the Elms and Columbia University. On December 31, 1960, Rosalie and Frank began their life together. Shortly after their marriage, the couple was transferred to Texas, Virginia and Maryland before landing in North Carolina. She and Frank always enjoyed travelling together, both on his business trips and around the world. They adventured to Hawaii, Alaska, the Panama Canal, Ireland, Kenya, and many countries in Europe. Rosalie treasured those memories and reminisced about them often. When not travelling, Rosalie was a gifted seamstress, painter, decorator, and cook. Her creative talents were endless!
Rosalie's greatest pride was her loving marriage and her four children, all of whom survive her, Jimmy (Stacey), Richard (DeDe), Beth Jones (Kenny), and Mike (Carlyn). She loved her nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and enjoyed visiting with them. Rosalie lost her beloved Frank on November 19, 2021. In addition to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory, she leaves behind three sisters, Arlene Atkinson, Maria Dunn, and Louise Morris, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Rosalie's life will take place on December 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Greensboro.
