RUBY MAE WILLIAMSON JONES GREENSBORO Ruby Mae Williamson Jones, 81, of Greensboro, N.C. died after an extended illness on November 28, 2013. The funeral service will be held Friday , December 6, 1 p.m. at Trinity AME Zion Church and internment will follow at Guilford Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive condolences at 12:30 p.m. Ruby was born May 1, 1932 in Scotland County to the late James and Bertha Williamson. She graduated from Laurinburg Institute, and received a BS in Business Administration and a MS in Counseling from NC A&T State University. After graduation she worked for 32 years at NCA&T, and retired in 1997. Mrs. Jones was very active in the community, church, political and other organizations. Mrs. Jones was married to the late Walton I Jones Sr, and leaves three sons, Walton Irving Jones, Jr. (Rev. Marlene), of Raleigh, NC, Michael Leigh Jones (Jason Larkin) of Washington, DC and John Eric Jones (Ann Marie) of Greenville, SC. Sisters: Gertrude Graham of Laurinburg, NC and Cozettie Smith of Southern Pines, NC. One brother, David Williamson (Carolyn) of Detroit, Michigan. Granddaughters, Phenecia E. J. Burns (Michael) of Melbourne, FL, Kathryn B. Jones of Greenville, SC, grandson Craig Eric Jones of Greenville, SC and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Siblings preceding her in death are Hattie Neil Goins, Annie Williamson Dowd, Ed Williamson, and James Williamson.
