Thomas "Tom" C. Snead

March 5, 1949 - September 22, 2025

Thomas Clay Snead, 76, of Pleasant Garden, N.C., died Monday, September 22, 2025, at his home.

Visitation for family and friends will be at Forbis and Dick Funeral Home, 1118 North Elm St., Greensboro on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tom's remains will be interred at Lakeview Memorial Park beside his late partner, Gail Russell Sullivan, at a later date.

Tom was born in Durham, N.C. on March 5, 1949. He grew up in Greensboro; his parents were the late Isabel Weisner Snead and Clayton Robert Snead. He was member of Friendly Ave. Baptist Church.

Tom attended Grimsley High School, enlisting in the US Army after the 11th grade. He served active duty in Vietnam (from March 1969 to May 1970) as a carpenter with the 526th Engineer Detachment and was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves in 1974. Tom worked in Greensboro as a laborer for Labor Ready, a house painter for RL Hicks Services. After retirement, he worked part-time as a driver for the Greensboro Auto Action.
