William Smith Obituary
October 10, 1994 - September 13, 2022
William Troy Smith, age 77, died September 13, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Troy was born in Guilford County to the late William Warner and Ruby Osborne Smith.
A memorial service will be Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Christ Wesleyan Church, 2400 S. Holden Road, Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends and loved ones following the service.
Troy served in the USAF with the 7120th Airborne Command Control Squadron ("Silk Purse") RAF in Mildenhall, England. He retired from the US Post Office.
Troy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Julia Parks Smith; sons Andrew (Jennifer), Titusville, FL and Steven, McLeansville, NC; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Apopka, FL; Daniel and Jeffrey, Titusville, FL, siblings, Marie Smith Bosley, McLeansville, NC, Danny Smith (Eileen), Council Bluffs, IA, sisters-in-law Sandy Smith, Gibsonville, NC and Rita Smith, Mocksville, NC. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Tim and Fred.
The family requests no flowers be sent and donations be made to Gideons International (www.gideons.org/donate), Alzheimer's Association (www.act.alz.org/donate)or or Greensboro Hospice (www.authoracare.org/give/donate).

I am sorry to know about Troys passing. We work together for several years at the Mail Processing plant and Troy was the Area Maintenance Supervisor. He supervised the maintenance workers that supported the smaller post offices in the Greensboro District. My condolences to Troys family.
