Joann Jackson Obituary

Mrs. Joann Mason Jackson, 77, of Heidrick, passed away Friday afternoon, October 10, 2025 at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born March 24, 1948 in Pineville, the daughter of the late Huey and Della Mae Smallwood Mason.

Joann was a former quality supervisor with Warner's and a former customer service representative with DataTrac. She was a devoted member of the Barbourville Church of God where she served faithfully in her church community and reflected her deep faith in Jesus. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach, and also loved to shop.

On September 16, 1967, she united in marriage with Wendell Jackson who preceded her in death on September 29, 2025.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, June Gibson, Eunice Mason, Myrtle Ward, Mildred Hibbard, Shirley Dawson, Ledford Mason, Donald Ray Mason and Kelly Mason.

Survivors include her loving sister, Thelma Hush of Loveland, OH; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, October 19 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Sylvester Dunn and Rev. Samuel Lawson officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Tuggle Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Danny Jones, Jayden Jones, Conner Jones, Parker Jones, Eric Hibbard and Tim Jackson.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
