Alice Sham Obituary

Alice Marie Sham

Taylors

Alice Marie Sham, 74, passed away peacefully Monday May 13, 2013 at her son's home in Greenville, SC. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard John Sham. She leaves behind her son, Rich Sham, three grandchildren; Dylan, Logan, Sarah, brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews - all of which she cherished. Alice was a true blessing to the world - always with a smile on her face and a contagious laugh that could be heard across a room. She truly cherished her friends and family, and spent many a night 'cutting the rug' - out dancing with her friends. Never a more generous and compassionate person would you find than Alice. She will truly be missed by many.

Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Greenville SC on Friday May 17th from 6-8PM. The funeral service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Saturday May 18th at 1:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in her memory, to the Cancer Society. Condolences may be made to the family at www.woodlawn-fh.com Woodlawn Funeral Home. Greenville, SC.

Alice was a reall sweetie. She was always fun to be around and we loved seeing her at the dances.
I call her Alice Blue Gown because that is what she was wearing the 1st time I met her at a Premiere Singles Dance.,

Rich, I met your mom years ago and she never changed. Every time I saw her she was smiling and laughing, living life to the fullest.I will always remember our late night talks and I am glad to have called her my friend. Peggy Carman

Rich, What a blessing, pleasure and honor it was to have your mom in my life, as a cherished wonderful friend and shag dance partner. Thank you for allowing me to be by her side on the last days of her journey to heaven. It was truly a blessing, and if God has never danced before, He and your Dad, are surely dancing now with mom with her beautiful giving, loving, bright shining smile. Not only did we share our love of family, friends, and dancing, but we also shared our love of God, and all the miracles he brings into our daily lives......some we are unaware of until a later time, when we look back and finally realize, "OH...that was God's doing....and what a blessing it turned out to be". Like me, meeting your mom.... She blessed my life in so many ways, and, I am so thankful to know we will continue to be friends until I see her again in heaven. AND, in the meantime, I will continue talking and praying with her and I will include you and her grandchildren in those talks and prayers everyday. Your mom was SO proud of you Rich. You are the son every mother would be honored to call their son! God bless you!

Rich, I wish I could be there. It was so wonderful to spend time with you guys and Aunt Alice last summer. She was a great woman! I have so many good memories of her as I grew up & we had tons of laughing conversations when I used to do her hair!
