Eddie Septon Obituary
Greer - Eddie Charles Septon, 74, passed away February 8, 2021.
Born December 22, 1946, in Spartanburg, SC, to Warren Lewis and Elma Rebecca Septon, Eddie was a retired school teacher with Greenville County School District, where he taught Life Science for 30 years at Sevier Middle. Eddie loved his family, hunting, fishing and growing tomatoes in his garden. Eddie was a part-time farmer after retirement, where he enjoyed riding his tractor. His greatest joy was time spent with his grandchildren.
He graduated from Greer High School in 1965, where he returned every Friday in the fall to watch his Yellow Jackets play football. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Newberry College, and a Master's Degree from Furman University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and is a current member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Greer.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Gail Septon, they were seldom seen apart. Also surviving are one daughter, Amy Gasparich (Zak); one son Robbie Septon (Lauren), both of Greer; grandsons, Sam Gasparich and Jack Septon; one granddaughter, Annie Septon; and two brothers, Michael Septon and David Septon.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Kathy Clayton.
A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021, at Memorial United Methodist Church.
A drive through visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Memorial United Methodist Church Children's & Youth Programs, 201 N Main Street, Greer, SC or Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.

I love seeing him at school everyday. He taught me so much about Science. He gave me my start in Medicine. I will never forget him.

I was sad to learn this morning of the passing of Mr. Septon. He was my 6th Grade Science teacher at Sevier in 1973. Two years later, Mrs. Septon was my English teacher there. I have vVERY fond memories of both of them. My heart goes out to the family, and especially to Mrs. Septon, whom I adored. May God bless you and look over you now.

I have such fond memories of being in Mr. Septon’s Science class at Sevier. Many prayers for you and your family and may God grant you all peace and understanding at this time. I will miss seeing your mom and dad out eating together around Greer. What a sweet couple. To be married for that long is a rarity these days. We all should strive for that. Thanks for allowing us to care for your dad.
