Kathryn, Pat, Anne and Lee,
I was so sorry to hear about Ernest. Kathryn, you and Ernest were such a big part off my life for so long when I worked with all of you at the studio. The studio was still in the old Belk building when I first met all of you! Ernest provided a great deal of valuable guidance and taught me important life lessons that still influence and contribute to the person I am today. He used his gift as a photographer to highlight the beauty and grace of "real" life.

Even though I did not work with Ernest personally, it was an honor to be a part of the Ernest Rawlins Photography family. My deepest condolences to Kathryn and the rest of the Rawlins family.

Evelyn and I have known Ernest and Kathryn for over 50 years. The first time we met Ernest he made us feel as if he had known us all of his life. That is the way Ernest lived his life. People enjoyed being around him. His professional conduct and reputation should be a role model for all of us. Kathryn our prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Mr. Rawlins took my picture when he first started in Greenville. It was made into a bookmark for the Greenville Public Library. I still have the dress in which the picture was made and a couple of the bookmarks. He later made pictures of my children. He was one of the photography masters and his work lives on in many homes. He was a fine gentleman. May your wonderful memories of him give you comfort in the coming days.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Alan, Shelly, Abbey and I will always remember his gentle spirit. He was wonderful in working with our girls each time he photographed them. We always enjoyed his company when he came to visit us in the restuarant. There are many people who will have lasting memories thanks to him and his great photography. God bless you Kathryn and the rest of your family during this difficult time. Alan and Wanda Kay

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Ernest Rawlins was an authentic Southern gentleman who took my son's annual birthday picture from infancy until late teens, always remembering our different yearly themes and rising to the occasion. We loved his shots still displayed prominently in our homes and loved him. His name on a photograph means quality and will always reflect happy moments of childhood and family to us. God bless his lovely family and him. Respectfully, Kathleen Jennings Gresham

I am not a very photogenic person, but Ernest Rawlins took the best picture of me I ever had! My only regret is that I broke up with the fellow I sent it to! He was a true master of his art! PT Greenville, SC

Mr. Rawlins started taking pictures of my family when I was in high school and we considered him our "family" photographer. He took pictures of my wedding and later pictures of my children, and other family photographs. He was a wonderful person and a superb photographer and he will be missed. Our sincerest condolences to his wife and family.
