Greer
Helen Brown Garner, 92, formerly of Ashmore Street, Greer, passed away peacefully at National Health Care of Greenville on Wednesday, April 24, 2013.
Widow of the late Fred Weathers Garner, she was a lifelong resident of Greer and a member of Southside Baptist Church. A daughter of the late Luther Isom and Mary Forrester Brown, she was the oldest of seven children.
She is survived by her children, Ralph Garner of Greer and Beth Pittillo and her husband, Joe of Greenville; one granddaughter whom she adored, Staci Rozek and her husband, Kyle of Greenville; and one great-grandson, Max Weathers Rozek. She also leaves two sisters, Lucille Powell and Maythol Towery both of Greer; two brothers, Carroll Brown and A.J. Brown both of Greer; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Garner was predeceased by one sister, Christine Pate and one brother, Russell Brown.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Keith Kelly and Mr. Ken Bogan. Internment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held 2:30-3:45 p.m. Sunday at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home of her daughter.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, SC 29601.

I could always count on Ms. Helen to put a smile on my face when I visited my Mom across the hall from her. She was always happy and helped lift my spirits without even knowing it. I have no doubt in heaven she is eating her dessert first before her meal and drinking her cup of coffee. What a blessing to have know and shared some time with her. Ralph & Beth both of you
were so wonderful to your
