Herbert McGill Obituary
Greer - Herbert G McGill (Glenn), 80 of Greer, SC went to be with the Lord after a long battle with heart failure Friday, February 5, 2021. He was the son of the late Mr. Earnest Watson McGill Sr. and Mrs. Berdie Gertrude Freeman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Georgia S. McGill; a son, Jason Michael McGill; a daughter, Julie Denise McGill Sill; grandchildren, Jordan, Desiree, Haley; great grandchildren, Ayden Ethan Lawson, Lilly, Connor, and Bryson; a brother, James Walter McGill; two nephews, James W McGill Jr, Earnest McGill; niece, Bobbie McGill.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Ann McGill Garr.
Glenn had a 37 year career at Norfolk Southern Railway. Some hobbies and interests of his included an extensive collection of vinyl records and 8 track and cassette tapes. He loved going on road trips to different locations to view waterfalls and grist mills. Glenn dearly loved playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as his fur babies, Winnie and Dexter.
Glenn will be remembered for his kindness and generosity that came naturally from him. His good heart and sweet spirit will be truly missed. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather. We all hit the lottery with him. He will be truly missed.
Due to the COVID Virus precautions there will be no service. In lieu of flowers send donations to AnMed Health Hospice or your local Animal Shelter.
