James Patterson Obituary

James Elijah Patterson Jr., 83, of 195 Roanoke Ridge, widow of Wilma Howard Constance Patterson, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at his home.

He was born in Pickens County, son of the late James Elijah and Hattie Mae Burgess Patterson Sr., was retired from Pickens County Maintenance as a welder, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Serving during World War II in North Africa. He was awarded a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart, and also a POW Medal. He was a member of Secona Baptist Church.

Survivors are sons, James Scott Patterson, Mike Constance, Russ Constance and Jim Constance, all of Easley, and Chris Constance of Pickens; daughters, Jan Constance Merritt of Atlanta, Ga., and Cyndi Constance Nix of Easley; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday Sept. 13, 2002, at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home.
