John "Jack" Guthrie, 80, of Greenville, loving husband of Bobbie Darnell Guthrie, died October 2, 2011.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Freeman Guthrie and Pauline Guthrie McSwain.
Jack was a retired mechanic and of the Church of God Faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Angie Atkinson (Brandt), and Jackie Floyd (Milton); a son, Robert Darnell (Dorothy); six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Carlton (Larry), and Tammy Trayham (Mark).
He was predeceased by a daughter, Jewel Mitton; a brother Leroy Guthrie; and a sister, Corabel Clem.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 4, 2011, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, in the chapel of the funeral home, with burial following at Graceland Cemetery West.
The family will be at the residence.
