Morgan Sauls Obituary

Morgan was born on June 30, 1968 in Manning, South Carolina, the son of Morgan Louis Sauls III and Christine Fisher Sauls. He passed away on January 18, 2008.

Morgan, referred to by family and friends as Little Morg, was an active member of The Presbyterian Church at Manning. He was a resident of Independence Place. He received a special diploma from North Charleston High School.

Survivors are his mother of Greenville; father and stepmother, Anne Sauls of Manning; his brother, Charles Bradley Sauls and wife Knight Sauls; his niece, Jane Morgan Knight Sauls; and nephew, Charles Bradley Sauls, Jr., all of Birmingham, Alabama; a sister, Christy Sauls Medford and her husband O'Neil Medford; and niece, Katie Medford of Greenville, South Carolina. Also surviving is his Aunt Virginia Threatt of Horrell Hill, South Carolina and many beloved cousins. Morgan was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, the late Dr. Samuel H. and Dr. Peggy M. Fisher of Greenville; and his paternal grandparents, the late Mr. Morgan L. Sauls, Jr. and Virginia Randolph Richards Sauls of Manning.

Though Morgan was confined to a wheelchair due to cerebral palsy, it did not stop him from experiencing life to the fullest. In fact, he attributed his disability to making him a more faithful Christian. Where there is a will, there is a way. Morgan was very resourceful, finding ways to attend most church and community activities. Morgan could remember telephone numbers and names like no other and knew how to communicate with people better than any salesman.

Morgan was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in The Presbyterian Church at Manning, with the Rev. Dr. William J. Holmes officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning, and at other times at 5717 Old Georgetown Road, Manning.

Memorials may be made to Clarendon County Mental Retardation Foundation, Post Office Drawer 40, Manning, South Carolina 29102 or The Presbyterian Church at Manning, Post Office Box 207, Manning, South Carolina 29102.
