Fleda Elizabeth Ligon Miller, of 108 Ethelridge Drive, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007.
She had been a resident of Greenville since 1935. Born February 17, 1915, in Pickens, she was a daughter of the late James N. and Malinda Chastain Ligon and wife of the late Ruthel Miller.
Mrs. Miller was an active member of Leawood Baptist Church since 1957, where she taught Vota Vita and Ruth Sunday School Classes. She served as a Sunday School teacher for more than fifty years. She was also active in the missions organizations. Mrs. Miller retired from Stone Manufacturing Company after twenty-five years of service.
She is survived by two sons, Jack R. Miller Sr. and wife, Becky, of Travelers Rest and James A. Miller and wife, Peggy, of Miami, Florida; six grandchildren, Scott Miller of Greer, Melanie Helling of Greer, Diane Rainey and husband, Eric, of Greenville, Rich Miller of Travelers Rest, Christie Miller of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Jennifer Gross and husband, Jamie, of Miami, Florida; and ten great-grandchildren, Hannah Edwards and husband Darin, Emily O'Sheal, Michael and Alyson Rainey, Reid and Brady Miller, Taylor Rampey, Mehgan and Victoria Gross, and KaDarron Anderson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Miller was the sole remaining child of James and Malinda Ligon. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Freeman; and five brothers, Henry, Milton, Herman, Ben and Earl Ligon.
Visitation will be held Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at Leawood Baptist Church at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Billy King, Rev. Dr. Clarence Freeman and Rev. David Cole officiating. Burial will be at Enoree Baptist Church Cemetery.
