Raymond Bloszies Obituary

Raymond Frederick Bloszies, 93, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, surrounded by his loving family at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Omaha, Neb., on Dec. 10, 1911, the son of the late Robert and Emma Grapengiser Bloszies, he attended the University of Nebraska, and the Army Air Corps Flight School in San Antonio, Texas. An Eastern Airline pilot and test pilot for Curtiss-Wright during World War II, he later served as executive pilot for Curtiss-Wright and Manufacturers Trust Co. After many happy years in West Caldwell and Gillette, N.J., where he founded his own vending business, he retired to Keowee Key, S.C., in 1983.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Hardie Bloszies; his daughter, Judith and her husband, James McCully of Fountain Valley, Calif.; a son, John Robert Bloszies and his wife, Linda, of Columbus, Ga.; a son, James Raymond Bloszies and his wife, Eileen, of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; six grandchildren, Libby Roy, Laura Pekari, Eva White, Marla Martell, Sean Bloszies, and Jackson Bloszies; five great-grandchildren; also a niece, Nancy Edlund and her family.

Services will be held at a later date.

Memorials are lovingly welcome and may be made to Walhalla Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 917, Walhalla, SC 29691.
