Reginald Nelson Obituary

Reginald David Nelson

Taylors - Reginald David Nelson, 93, passed away January 27, 2018, at his home, surrounded b his family. He was born in Water Glen, Alberta, Canada to the late Carl Hjalmer Nelson and Agnes Emelia (Bjorkgren) Nelson.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mae Clara Edith (Ericson) Nelson. He is also survived by four children; Janet Jeffers (Daryl), Daniel Nelson (Marta), Karen Lee (Brad) and Kristen Cone (Michael); fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Following high school, he spent a year at a Bible institute and then attended the University of Alberta (Canada) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. The next step was graduate work at Iowa State University in organic chemistry leading to a PhD degree.

Upon moving to Columbus, OH in 1956, he worked for Chemical Abstract Services until his retirement in 1989. Also during that time he and his wife were faithful members of Calvary Bible Church where he served as treasurer for 25 years and was an active member of the congregation until they moved to Indianapolis, IN, and ultimately to Greenville, SC. He was also a great supporter of the Christian camp ministry and missions.

He will be sadly missed by his family but he is in the presence of the Lord that he served so faithfully.

We are so blessed to have had just one visit to their home in Greenville, S.C.
It is rare to meet one in such condition, yet full of joy to know the Lord and so willing for His will to be done in their lives. Even though he needed much care from the family, there was always the joyful expression of love from them. Now we are praying with Mae that the Lord would allow her to join David and our Lord in heaven, and praying for your strength as you continue to care for her. Our thoughts and prayers continue on for you all. Lovingly,
Leonard and Sue Holliday
