Richard Greer Obituary
Greenville - Richard "Bill" M. Greer, 82, husband of Frankie Greer, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
Born in Greer SC, he was a son of the late Guy and Ruby Greer.
Bill served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and retired from G.E. after 28 years. Bill was a charter member of Unity Baptist Church where he taught served as a deacon and was a member of Adult #1 Sunday School class. He was a Sunday School teacher for over 55 years and enjoyed traveling and his church.
In addition to his loving wife of 65 years, he is survived by a son, Rick Greer (Diane); three grandchildren, Rev. Matt Greer (Amber), Robby John Calhoun (LeAnn), Travis Calhoun (Samantha); son-in-law, Robbie Calhoun; three great-grandchildren, Addy and Noah Calhoun and Audrey Greer.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Paula Marie Greer, daughter, Robin Calhoun; sister, Ann Wilson and brother, Jack Greer.
The visitation will be held Monday, November 26, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with the funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery West.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Baptist Church, 12 Piney Rd, Greenville, SC 29611.
