Robert Hartley Obituary
Simpsonville
Dr. Robert Hartley, longtime resident of Simpsonville, SC, and husband of the late Carole Rita Geist Hartley, departed from this world on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from his home.
Born April 17, 1935, in Forsyth, MO, to the late Leonard B. and Alice G. Cooperrider Hartley, Bob was a U.S. Army veteran and graduate of Kansas State University. Dr. Hartley practiced vet medicine in Norfolk, NE, for 15 years, and in the Greenville area for over 35 years. He was a member of First Baptist Dallas, and longtime former member of Pleasant Grove Baptist, Fountain Inn, SC.
Surviving are daughter, Kathy Fehlbaum and Marco of Carrollton, TX, and children, Ky, Emily, and Laura; son, Ty Hartley and Caroline of Palm Bay, FL, and children Emilee, Erica, and Elizabeth; son, Kurt Hartley and Caroline of Simpsonville, SC, and children, Hunter, Tyler, McKenzie, Ellie, Jack, and Gabe. He was predeceased by a sister, Linda Carol Hartley Ryder, and a brother, Daniel Bruce Hartley.
A March 10th home-going celebration will be led by Rev. Phil Whitt at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Family visitation will be at noon, and memorial at 1 o'clock. Entombment will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum, with Military Honors.

Our deepest sympathy to the family. Dr. Bob was one of the most interesting and compassionate people to spend time with during our years in Sunday School class at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Ft. Inn, SC . We enjoyed going to various shows at the Greenville Little Theatre with Carole and Bob. Even though we missed seeing Bob, we are so grateful that Kathy and Marco were able to have Dr. Bob in their home and take good care of him. Sincerely, Ed and Brenda Johnson

I am thankful that I had the opportunity to have Dr.Hartley as my veterinarian when I first moved to this area 27 years ago. Dr. Hartley greeted everyone by name in the waiting room and was a knowledgeable and compassionate physician.
