Rose Crouch Obituary

Rose Armstrong Crouch, 68, of 1095 Andrews Farm Road, Spartanburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at her home after an extended illness.

A life-long resident of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Francis Armstrong Sr. and Rose Murphy Armstrong. She was a 1952 graduate of Spartanburg High School and attended Trinity College in Washington, D.C.

Having been a Real Estate Agent for almost 30 years, she owned and operated Rose Crouch Realty for 11 years. She was a Member and Past President of Spartanburg Board of Realtors, was Past President of Multiple Listings Service, was Realtor of the Year in 1993, served on the Board of Directors of Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce and the Advisory Board of Regents Bank, and was a Member and Past President of the Junior League and the Debutante Club of Spartanburg. She also was a member of Shortia Garden Club , the Tea and Topics Book Club and Children's Advocacy Council.

Rose was a faithful member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Spartanburg, where she had served on the Finance Committee.

Surviving are her husband of 45 years, James G. Crouch, of the home; three daughters, Kathleen Crouch Richardson, and husband, Jerome Johnson Richardson Jr., of Charlotte, N.C., Mildred Kelly Crouch, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Margaret Crouch Crowley, and husband, Kevin McClancy Crowley, of Spartanburg; five grandchildren, Jerome Johnson Richardson III, Rose Katelyn Richardson, Claire Crouch Richardson, Kevin McClancy Crowley and Margaret Garland Crowley; one sister, Maureen Armstrong Watson, and husband, Gerald H. Watson, of Columbia; two brothers, Thomas Francis Armstrong Jr., and wife, Mary Armstrong, of Louisville, Ky., and John Murphy Armstrong, and wife, Margaret Tiernan Armtrong, of Spartanburg; four nieces; and four nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 1, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, conducted by the Rev. Michael R. DeAntonio. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Those who wish may make memorials to the Building Fund of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 161 N. Dean St., Spartanburg, SC 29302; Spartanburg County Foundation, 320 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29302; or, to Hospice Special Needs, 120 Heywood Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29302.

The family will be at the home at 1095 Andrews Farm Road.
