Ruth Langford Webb

Travelers Rest

Ruth Langford Webb, 85, of Travelers Rest, widow of Julius Edwin Webb, Sr., died on Monday, April 21, 2014 at her home.

Born in Travelers Rest, she was the oldest daughter of the late James Tyre and Olpha Emma Childress Langford.

Mrs. Webb worked for many years in the office at Renfrew Bleachery and Kerr Finishing. She was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. After retirement she enjoyed traveling and tending her flowers.

She is survived by two children, Ed Webb, Jr., and wife Adele, and Donna Webb; a sister, Sarah Lynn and husband Fred; and a sister-in-law, Vernie Langford.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Watts; and a brother, Harvey Langford.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with visitation prior from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, 417 Rutherford Street, Greenville, SC 29609, for the feeding of the hungry which was of special interest to her.

The family would like to send a special thanks for the love and care from her nursing staff at Lutheran Hospice.

The family will be at the residence.
