Septima Palm Obituary

Septima Glover Twyford Palm, 90, widow of John McConnell Palm Jr., of Brookline Manor, Mifflintown, Pa., formerly of Greenville, passed away, Monday, Aug. 13th, 2001.

She was born Feb. 26, 1911 in Hendersonville, N.C., her parents were the late Henry and Virginia W. Twyford.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, the Daughters of the American Revolution and American Penwomen. She was a published poet, writing many books of poetry based on her love of family and nature.

She is survived by three sons, John M. Palm III of Mifflintown, Pa., David M. Palm of Hawaii, and Michael A. Palm and his wife, Prentiss, of Travelers Rest; and two daughters, Septima A. Palm and Virginia P. Johnston and her husband, Heyward, of Mauldin. She is also survived by six grandchildren, John and Amanda Palm of Mifflintown, Pa., Anna Palm Augusta, Ga., Rachel Palm of Travelers Rest, Tiffany Harrison and Ginny Caricofe of Greenville; and four great-grandchildren, Shaylen Eldridge of Augusta, Ga., Laiken Caricofe, Kolny and Brady Harrison of Greenville.

The families are at their respective home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to A Child's Haven, 27 Stone Plaza, Greenville, SC 29609. A memorial service will be held at a later date. - Barr Funeral Home.
