Dear David,

Chip and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and the children in your time of loss. Sylvia was my suite-mate when I was a freshman at the School of Nursing at MUSC, and she served punch at our wedding in 1963. It was always a joy to see her at reunions and to receive her Christmas card each year. We will miss those blue eyes and sweet demeanor. We look forward to our Final Reunion one day when our turn comes.

Warm regards,
Chip and Libby Brown

My prayers are with you all. I had the pleasure of meeting "Stew's Mom" on several occasions. She surely never met a stranger, no matter how long it had been since I had last seen her, she knew me and greeted me with a smile and a hug!
Stewart and family, I pray as you go through this difficult time. I am certain that Brian greeted her with a smile and she a warm hug for him!

Always welcoming, always positive, and always smiling when I saw her, Sylvia was an example of Christian womanhood in my life. Heaven has been blessed with her presence! Mark and I pray for your family. Until we all celebrate with her again! (2 Corinthian 5:8)

Sylvia was one of my second moms when I was in high school.... and later. Every time we stopped by the Nelson house Momma Nelson would immediately start cooking or reheating something for her boys. She always had an incredible way of caring for people. I know heaven is a wonderful place, but it just got a little better with the addition of Sylvia. My love and prayers stay with the family.

Sylvia was a wonderful, caring person. I have known her since we first became friends in high school. I was fortunate to visit with her a few years ago when a group of old friends from high school got together for lunch in Columbia. God must have needed another angel.
