Paulette Richardson

1948 - 2024

Paulette Lee Richardson, 75, a longtime resident of Stamford, died on Saturday July 20, at Greenwich Hospital following a prolonged illness. Miss Richardson was born on October 8, 1948, the daughter of the late Evelyn Grace Granger and Paul Richardson.

Paulette attended the Academy of the Sacred Heart of Mary, located in her hometown of Sag Harbor, NY. She worked for a time in the Bulova watch factory, also in Sag Harbor. Frequently, she ran into novelist John Steinbeck, who resided in Sag Harbor with his family and their dog, Charley. Paulette left home to pursue her college education, first at Queen of the Apostles College in Harriman, NY, then at Saint Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, NY, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in June of 1971.

After completing her studies, Paulette moved to the Greenwich/Stamford area where she remained for the rest of her life. She was employed for several years at the Baldwin Piano and Organ center in downtown Greenwich. Later, she became music director of Saint Clement of Rome Roman Catholic Church in Stamford where she served under two successive pastors. Changing careers, she assumed the role of office manager and assistant to Doctor Robert Blabey, a general surgeon affiliated with Stamford Hospital. They worked together until Doctor Blabey's retirement in 2001. Paulette went on to provide her services as a medical billing and coding specialist to a number of area physicians until her eventual retirement.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Clement of Rome Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford, CT, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.
