Anthony Biondo Obituary
Mr. Biondo was born January 7, 1920 in Greenwich, CT to Natale and Theresina Petti Biondo, attended Greenwich Schools and for over 40 years was employed by Cecio Brothers Construction also in Greenwich.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and participated in the D-Day Invasion and also the Battle of the Bulge. Anthony was also a lifetime member of the Ninth District Veterans Association in Greenwich, CT.
He is survived by his beloved wife Alice Biondo of Greenwich, his children Ann Capparelle (Frank) of Phoenix, AZ, Anthony Biondo, Jr. (Eleanor) of Wallingford, CT, Annette Combs (Sean) of Greenwich and Theresa Conte (Douglas) of Fairfield, CT., his grandchildren Frank J. Capparelle (Jolene), Daniel M. Combs, Dominick S. Conte, Anthony J. Conte and his great grandchildren Mia A. Capparelle, Nicole Drake, and Erica Drake. His brother in law Rocco Cicco, sister in law Mary Biondo and several nieces and nephews survive him.
He is predeceased by his sisters Agnes Masi (James), Phyllis Cicco and brothers Peter Biondo, Samuel Futie (Vera) and Joseph Futie (Frances).
Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at the Castiglione Funeral Home; 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich, CT. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 AM on Friday, May 18, 2007 at Sacred Heart Church in Byram. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.
Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108-3040.
