Anthony DeLuca Obituary
Anthony J. DeLuca "ToTo", 76, of Cos Cob, CT passed away on November 25, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 19, 1936 to the late Anthony and Vivian (Urso) DeLuca. ToTo was a 1955 graduate of Greenwich High School where he began his football career. He was a varsity football player from his freshmen year though his senior year at GHS. He received all state awards all four years. ToTo also played with the Golden Bears, a semi-pro team in Stamford. Then off to a short run on the Greenbay Packers. He has been married to his beloved wife R. Nancy DeLuca for 52 years. In 1966 he started A. DeLuca & Sons, Inc, a local excavating business. His family was always the most important part of his life. He enjoyed his time with his wife, children and grandchildren. ToTo was an avid sports fan and loved watching both the NY Yankees and NY Giants. He also loved spending his winters in Florida. In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his sons William DeLuca (Cathijo) and Lawrence DeLuca (Katie), his daughter Nancy Cardini (George), his brother Lawrence DeLuca, his sister Rosemarie Abbazia, his grandchildren; Emily DeLuca, Alexandra DeLuca, Anthony DeLuca, William DeLuca, Jr., Marc DeLuca, Jennifer DeLuca, Larry DeLuca, Jr., Tony DeLuca, Dominic DeLuca, Elizabeth Cardini, Toni Cardini, Gianna Cardini and Melina Cardini. Along with his parents, Anthony was predeceased by a son Anthony DeLuca. Family and friends may visit at the Castiglione Funeral Home, Inc., 134 Hamilton Ave. in Greenwich on Tuesday, Nov. 27th and Wednesday, Nov. 28th from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 10:00AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Nancy, Billy, Nancy and family, So surprised and saddened by the news. I finally got to meet my Godfather, Toto, as an adult, at my dad's wake. He was so adorable, and I told him that now he is "responsible" for taking care of me since my dad passed. Im sure they are up there laughing and throwing a football-maybe my dad just needed his pal. Really sad though because he was just adorable and I am so happy I got to talk with him in September. Prayers your way. Aimee

Dear Mrs. DeLuca,
I read this morning of the passing of Mr. DeLuca and couldn't help but send along my prayers. Your son and I played together at URI and those years are home to some of my most treasured memories...especially the tailgating after football games on Saturday. Everyone loved Tony, it was easy to do...I believe he got that quality from his parents and his family. Something tells me that your son greeted his dad with a great big hug and said "welcome home Dad"! May God bless you and keep you safe. Can't begin to say how sad we are in California to hear this news. Toto was my classmate, class of 1955.....football hero. But more than that...a lion on the field and a warm, wonderful man off the field. Our Calif. family saw him only 2 months ago when we came Castiglione's. Is that where old Italian friends meet?

The tears that blur my eyes while I write this are for the family near and far who have lost this huge man. I moved from conn to Virginia a few years ago,but I come back a lot. I saw Tony a few weeks ago. Always a smile and gripe about how things were better in the old days .yet I teased him about getting soft riding in his loader with airconditioning and heat. He smiled and said "just getting older " he will never be older nor forgotton. He is probably in Heaven telling his son he has been being lazy cause he had not taken over the place,now I will show you how it is done
