Clayton Schwartz Obituary
a resident of Nashville, TN, and former resident of Katonah, NY, passed on Sunday February 24th. He was born on September 20, 1975, and is gone from us too soon.
In May of 2006, Clayton was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident. He lived in strength and courage till the end.
Clayton graduated from John Jay High School and SUNY Potsdam College. He was attending Vanderbilt Law School in Nashville, TN. Clayton embraced life with vigor, and prior to his accident he was a yoga aficionado, worked the Alaskan fishing boat circuit and enjoyed adventure riding on his motorcycle.
A memorial mass will be held in his memory at St. Mary's Church, Route 302, Bethel, CT, 203-744-5777, Friday February 29th at 10 AM. Clay leaves behind his loving parents, Marylyn and Gene Schwartz of Bethel, CT, his beloved Grandmother, Theresa Agro of Wilmington, NC, his beloved aunts, uncles and cousins, Tess, Lauren and James also of Wilmington and countless other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations sent to the: Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, 636 Morris Turnpike, Suite 3A, Short Hills, New Jersey 07087
Please earmark all donations for "stem cell research."

I didn't know about this until recently. I met Clayton at orientation at SUNY Potsdam. He was playing hacky sack. Later he played rugby and served on student government. He had a strong presence. He was a great guy and I am so sorry.

Clayton, it seems like last week we were sitting on the porch at the Seattle house. You're gone from this world too soon, but not gone from my memory or my heart.
Gene and Marylyn, I'll remember you in my prayers often.

Clay will always be in my thoughts. I know all to well how it is to loose someone so young. BUT their life, love and laughter give me strenght every day. Clay's strength and kindness give me strength. I will miss him dearly and give Marilyn and Gene my love and prayers.
