Eugene Schlosser Obituary

Schlosser, Eugene
Eugene (Gene) Schlosser, 82, passed away on May 29th, peacefully surrounded by family. He was born in Port Chester, NY on December 15, 1932; son of the late Karl Schlosser and Cecelia Tillinghast. He was preceded in death by his sister Cecelia and brother Karl; survived by his wife of 53 years Amelia (Zaicek) Schlosser; daughters Mary Anne Burke (Walter), Michele Gebrayel (Patrick), Marilyn; grandchildren Walter III (Shannon), Michael, Kevin and Caitlin Burke; Patrick II, and Zavier Gebrayel; and by his brother Richard.
He attended Greenwich High; was in the plumbing trade with his father before enlisting in the Marines in 1953. He went to Radio and Radar schools in Great Lakes, IL and San Diego, CA. He was honorably discharged from El Toro, CA in 1956. He attended Bridgeport Engineering, was employed with Raytheon, Bendix, and RCA Corp. After retirement from RCA he pursued his own business as a HVAC technician.
He taught Marine Electronics for the Greenwich Power Squadron and also volunteered as a Special Police Officer for the Town of Greenwich for 30 years. He was active in Amateur Radio for 50 years with a call sign of K1MND and a commercial FCC Radio/Telephone License with Radar Endorsement. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
After retiring he spent summers in Vermont and winters in Florida, most recently The Villages where he continued being active in Amateur Radio.
A memorial Mass will be held in either late June or early July at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Greenwich, CT.
Donations may be made to St. Paul R.C. Church.

I met Gene ,while I was working in a restaruant ,he would repair the refrigerators and coolers.He would explain what he was doing,We had some laughs, He was a very plesant person.Rest In Peace Gene
