We were fortunate to become acquainted with Frank and Jean at Ocean Isles in Florida. We had heard some facts about Frank's involvement in Stamford from time to time, but it became obvious after reading the account in the Advocate, that we knew little about his life, career, and philantropic endeavors. What a wonderful life and contributor he was to society, and how humble he was.
Frank and Jean are very special individuals and we are going to miss seeing and talking to Frank.
We send our prayers to Jean and the family.

We only new of Mr. Rich from his works of God, his contribution to the development of Stamford as a corporate business for Fairfield County and the State of Connecticut. I never met him personally but I do believe I did once invite him to speak before the Kiwanis Club of Stamford when I was a chair of their Public Relations Committee. I grieve at his loss. His legacies are for all to see for now and far, far into the future. I thank him for being and on behalf of all the young seeking corporate careers in Connecticut.

My sympathies and condolences to the family of Frank Rich. I first met him when he began transforming Stamford and creating the Stamford Center for the Arts. His vision and passion for Stamford drove the town to what it is today. Not only a visionary, he had the ability to create with concrete and steel, and with the arts, a successful reality. So many communities and businesses have followed the trail he blazed. We have lost a great man.

Among his seemingly limitless achievements, Frank D. Rich, was a trustee and past-chairman of The Ferguson Library and the Ferguson Library Foundation. His leadership and wisdom became his hallmark during his term on Ferguson’s governing board. Whether it be the building of our buildings or the building of our collections, time and time again Frank would blend his ideas and concerns for Ferguson with the objective of what could realistically be achieved.

We had the honor and privilege of knowing Frank for almost three decades. He was a giant of a man intellectually, entrepreneurially, creatively, professionally and personally. Every conversation with him was a new learning experience for anyone fortunate enough to know him. That he will be dearly missed by his wonderful family and countless friends is abundantly clear. That he has left a legacy unparalleled in our community is the way in which he will long be remembered. Although we have lost his presence, we still have his passion and spirit for people, architecture, education, and culture, qualities he possessed and engendered in so many of us over the years.

Our deepest sympathies go to Jean and Bob, and the entire Rich family.

Mrs. Rich and Family,
Thursday, I decided to go on my computer and read the advocate news. As I went into the obituary section and began reading, I realized that I know this family. My heart was sadden. I don't know if you remember me; I hope you will! I'm Mattie(Green), your live-in babysitter over forty years ago. I remember your lovely home in Darien, and your wonderful family. Susan and I played many times at the school and I was playful with all of your children. Mr.& Mrs. Rich made me feel like I was a part of the family. Even though I forgot to put the top back on the creamy, white furniture polish and left it on Robert's bed! Also left the pretty white floor yellow after waxing too much and your pretty hardwood floors looked like a skating rink when I finished waxing. These are only a few memories I have of your family, and I'm sure you will cherish all the memories of Mr. Rich even the more. My love and prayers will continually be with you all in the loss of your love one.
Forever in my thoughts.
Love,

Lin Childress

Our deepest condolences to the entire Rich family. While Robbie and I had the pleasure of having lunch with Frank and knew something of his contributions to Stamford, Peter Healy's story and the accompanying obituary describe a true civic titan who touched many lives.

Sincerely,
